About the event
During this day the Ekangala community will be encouraged to recognise aspects of their
culture and heritage, which are both tangible and intangible and give expression to their
creativity by participating in music events and performing art. The day will also be celebrated by
recognizing our historical inheritance, honour of languages, spirituality and sacred sites; enjoy
our indigenous food and share our popular memory. Heritage Month comes just a few months
before South Africa celebrates Years of Freedom.
